Support for apprentices

If you're an apprentice we can provide the support and tools you need to help you develop the career you want. 

If you’re an apprentice, you can become an Affiliate member for free and enjoy our member benefits. 

If you’re at the end of your advanced or modern engineering apprenticeship, you can apply for professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) with the Institution. You’ll boost your earning potential, meet like-minded people, enjoy world-class recognition, and get ongoing career support.

What are Approved EngTech schemes?

If you have completed:

  • an Approved company scheme
  • an Approved training provider scheme
  • an Approved College scheme
You can apply for Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration via a simplified route.
