Summary

Considering supply chain requirements during the early stages of new product development can optimise supply chain performance more effectively.

This course covers key principles and concepts involved in end-to-end supply chain management from sourcing through to product end of life.

It has been designed to encourage discussion and reflection on the role of engineering in accommodating supply chain requirements, and in influencing how supply chains are designed and operate. This  includes exploring the impact of new technologies on products and supply chain.

You will get equipped to collaborate with key stakeholders across the supply chain to work together more effectively to optimise supply chain performance.

Introducing a basic framework for understanding different kinds of supply chains, the course covers their importance to business performance and explore them from both a design, sourcing and logistics perspective and cover topics such as returns, repair, maintenance, recovery and recycling.

The impact of technology trends such as Industry 4.0 on supply chains will also be introduced. Using a mix of case studies and examples there will be an opportunity to map your own supply chain and discuss some of your key supply chain challenges
