GD&T is recognised around the world as the only way of defining engineering drawings unambiguously. In an age where products are expected to be designed, manufactured and assembled by multi-functional teams working together across multiple continents the application of GD&T in ensuring product quality has never been more relevant . This course provides an essential understanding of the symbolic language of GD&T within the context of BS 8888 and ISO GPS standards. Newly updated to the latest BS 8888:2020 and ISO GPS standards, delegates will learn how GD&T is used to convey design intent, guarantee both assembly and function and, maximize tolerances. Applied at the outset of a project GD&T can establish robust product quality, save months of development time, tens even hundreds of thousands of pounds, and potentially millions over the lifecycle of a product. The course is delivered by a dimensioning and tolerancing expert of over 20 years experience in multiple industries and, supported with demonstrations, animations, models, real parts, case studies, discussions, written exercises, questions and calculations. Intense but engaging it provides delegates with the hard skills needed to solve problems and make a real difference to product quality.
Design, development, manufacturing, assembly and quality engineers, CMM and CNC programmers, tool designers, toolmakers, technicians, inspectors, buyers and technical project managers. In short anyone who creates , reads or edits mechanical part drawings and models.
