Outstanding engineering performance within the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) is recognised each year through three dedicated awards. These awards were inaugurated in 2016 and cement a strong relationship between the REME and the IMechE.
The Artificer Course – Student of the Year award recognises outstanding academic and engineering performance as well as leadership in post.
The winner is presented with a certificate and a cheque for £250. Their name is engraved on the permanent trophy displayed within DSEME.
The Class 1 Student of the Year Award recognises outstanding academic results on the Class 1 op upgrader course as well as contribution to REME life.
The Best REME Senior NCO award is to recognise the individual who is deemed to have made the best contribution to engineering during the year.
The winner is presented with a certificate and a cheque for £250. Nominations are through DSEME (Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering) for the Top Artificer and Top Class 1 Student of the Year Awards, and through the REME Corps for Best Senior NCO.
